| Hot air trapped under the hood will affect everything period. Releasing that hot air from the engine bay will affect everything as well. -Heat of the plenum heats the air inside of it making everything from there on out hotter. -Heat from turbos and manis also rises...not sinks. It will rise out of the vents if there are vents. -Heat in the engine bay heats up everything, including the tubes that water is running through to cool off the motor. Getting rid of that heat is only a good thing. -Heat affects platic clips an dhoses. Getting rid of that heat also is only good here too. -Even having a vented hood can aid the radiator in having another place to vent the air that goes through it out. Allowing air to move slightly faster through it cooling off the coolant better. Like how NSX-R hoods and 2000 Lamborghini Diablo GT hoods are, but unfortunatly not as good casue the vent is not directly sealed on the back of the radiator like those are....but it still aids in this. The benefits of a vented hood are undoubtable, but unfortnately the stock hood looks so good when compared to any vented hood, so many of us just stick with stock since it is good enough. The only vented hood I would consider is the one on SpeedyZXs Z.
